don't get A.D.D. during BFCM
make a plan. stick to it.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are, in my opinion, deeply overstimulating. Everywhere you look, there’s a flashing offer, an expiring timer, or an influencer telling you what you just can’t miss. I feel the pressure to “take advantage” of the deals—and like everyone else, I’ve fallen victim to the LAST CHANCE marketing more times than I’d like to admit.
Over the past few years, I’ve developed a simple approach that helps me feel like I’m taking advantage of the savings without falling into the trap of overbuying. And because these deals seem to start earlier every year, now is the perfect time to make. your. plan.
In early November, I make a shopping list. It’s a combination of presents for the holidays and essentials that are needed around the house—everything from socks to jewelry. I’ll ask my husband if there’s anything in his wardrobe that needs replacing, think through what my girls might need for the season ahead, and jot down the gifts I plan to give. I also include a short list of things I’ve been eyeing for myself—items I’d likely buy at full price anyway.
From there, I get strategic. I track my links, check my favorite retailers’ sale dates, and commit not to stray from the list. I even share it with two of my close friends—my cross-country shopping buddies—so I’m accountable to more than just myself.
The holidays can start to feel like a competition for our attention (and our wallets). Having a plan makes it all feel calmer, more intentional, and honestly—more enjoyable.
Here’s my list this year. So far. I need to think through some more gifting for my family. Send me suggestions in the comments! And hope it inspires you to make your list!!
Lizzie Mandler Mini Crescent Hoops- I want to stack these in my second and third holes. Sign up for their emails to shop BFCM offers early!
Polo Shirt- I got this for my husband for our family photos in September and I am going to get him another one if it’s on decent enough sale. It’s a perfect mix between a t-shirt and a knit and he hasn’t taken it off.
Bombas Socks- Have so many mismatched pairs of socks and plan to take advantage of any offers to restock the entire family.
White + Warren Polo- I have been looking for an oversized polo sweater that doesn’t cinch at the waist. This feels like it!
Petite Plume PJs- they are already running 20% off with code VIP20 and there will be a replenishment of the next size up for my daughters and some presents procured here as well!
NOOD Flasher Pro- at home IPL laser and laser hair removal device. Currently $100 off! This cost less than one session of laser hair removal so seems like a no brainer!
What did I miss? What’s on your list?

Can confirm that the Lizzie Mandler mini crescents are the perfect stacking hoop. Also I want that striped rugby too and Nood WORKS.
